If the iPhone 7 caught your eye when it was announced but you didn't want to shell out ridiculous money to get one, getting an older version may not be any less expensive anymore. Apple's 1st generation iPhone 2G is now up for sale (and sells) for anything between $1,000 and $8,500.
It's not uncommon for toys and tech to gain value over time, but the original iPhone is not even 10 years old yet. As we approach the 10 year anniversary we can expect to see prices increase even more, so if you've got a good condition (or even better, a brand-new sealed) original iPhone, keep it protected and hold on to it.
